Symptoms of hypothyroidism1
- fatigue
- intolerance to cold
- decreased sweating
- dry, itchy skin
- dry, coarse, brittle hair
- hair loss
- loss of appetite
- weight gain/ difficulty losing weight
- new or worsening problems with memory
- more frequent and severe muscle cramps and joint aches
- paresthesia
- constipation
- menstrual irregularity
- depression/irritability
- hoarse voice
- hearing loss
- goiter
- bradycardia
- elevated blood pressure

Symptoms of hyperthyroidism2
- nervousness
- irritability
- increased perspiration
- tachycardia or palpitations
- hand tremors
- anxiety
- difficulty sleeping
- thinning of the skin
- fine brittle hair
- muscular weakness – especially in the upper arms and thighs
- more frequent bowel movements (although diarrhea is uncommon)
- weight loss
